but it is truly a beautiful piece of artwork with all the stance issues put aside

not to be rude.....  but I'm a semi-pro archer and in this pic zelda has a combo of what we call Beyoncé buty and baby momma hip. Beyoncé buty is when you stick your buty out and baby momma hip is when your sticking your hip out the traditional way to shoot is the way most ppl use for hunting wich in that case it doesn't matter what your form looks like but in olimpic form you are supposed to be standing completely straight..... even if she wasn't using the olimpic form, the posture she has in this picture is very.... for lack of a better term.... unacceptable. it would mess up her aim and her arm get hit by the arrow string. also, she is holding the arrow improperly. you are supposed to have your index, middle, and ring finger, under the string with a small amount of space between the your fingers and the arrow. the way she holds the arrow would also mess up her aim and then there's her posture so basicly, depending on the size of the target, she would most likely not be able to hit the target or hit and area any where close to it.and not to mention, her feet are placed wrong and both of her eyes are open. you are supposed to align your feet underneath your shoulders, face in front of you, then turn side ways and pull back the string. these errors would once again, mess up her aim even more.... like I said, this comment was not ment to be rude, it was only ment to be helpful for future images you creat with a charecter shooting a bow

It's a nice piece, but facts are facts. I don't know anything about archery, but I think it's nice of you to spend your time to actually write this. I copied it so that I can use it for reference in my own pictures :D

yeah, sorry I just had to... archery is kinda my life.... I'm just glad you didn't take it the wrong way, I sware to God that it wasn't meant to be rude.... I really hope I didn't offend the artist though....

Please shut up and enjoy it for what it is.
SkylerWood16 Featured By Owner Mar 12, 2015  New member Hobbyist Artist
at least you said plz.... all in all its a very nice piece of art but whenever I see something being portrayed wrongly about archery I just have to correct it.... archery is mah life
gdub504 Featured By Owner Edited Mar 17, 2015  Hobbyist General Artist
I'm an amateur archer and I can see her hitting the target. Maybe the way her arrow fingers are would be uncomfortable for poor Zelda but I just looked up a Zelda Wiki and the theory is that the arrows she is shooting are like that of Uryu Ishida's from Bleach, or arrows that just require pulling back the string and that's it. It's a "magic" bow.
You are right about the eyes and thats it.
SkylerWood16 Featured By Owner Mar 17, 2015  New member Hobbyist Artist
not trying to be rude but..... I know what I'm talking about. I have a pro instructor and I'm in advanced classes. it's not even a class it's just to going to the range and aiming at a target and working on never corrected and I never miss the target.and it's because I have perfect posture and have one eye closed like your supposed to. however, when I shot for the first time in the first couple of weeks, I could not hit the target because my posture was incorrect.the way she is standing would severely effect her aim,and her arm would most likely get snapped by the string wich, I speak from personal experience, does not feel very pleasant. now, if your talking about magic, then her awful stance along with many other errors would not mean anything. again, this comment is not meant to be rude or braggy.the parts where I talked about myself specifically wre only meant to be an example.i take archery very srsly and when someone doubts me or my skills,or tells me I'm wrong about something that I know im correct about because of personal experience, I get extremely deffensive

I'm no stranger to archery either. She is shooting with a recurve magic bow. I shoot with a browning recurve bow. I shoot standing straight up with no training in posture. I can definitely hit a tree from about 75 feet.

This is a magic bow though. So like you said posture doesn't matter. And your skills aren't doubted my friend. Your perception of the world of Legend of Zelda is though.

Ganondorf is a fairly large target. I'm not sure how far away he was from Zelda in Twilight Princess but if Zelda had as much training as I had she would hit Ganondorf from a reasonable distance, especially with a magic bow. That's all that matters in this picture because if a picture was worth a thousand words than this picture would tell the story of Zelda shooting Ganondorf who is as big as the hulk.

I get especially defensive when people doubt my love for zelda.i love zelda more than archery and if anyone doubts me then they can just give me a quiz and see how much I love zelda
gdub504 Featured By Owner Mar 18, 2015  Hobbyist General Artist
okay then i suggest not questioning references to twilight princess if you have't played it then. If you played twilight princess and are still questioning this work then this is an argument about the concept of Zelda's light bow which is fine to argue but I don't think it's worth it to argue about it on this picture.

I wish.
Wait no!
I don't wish that because then why would they make a game that has a princess who can fight for herself.
Yes! New game idea! You can play as Zelda! That'd be boring though. Most Nintendo-franchise princesses just bake cakes.

That comment was long to me Link Shocked
